Social Media is Serious Business
February 20, 2019
Whether you’re a new business just starting out, or a well established business that's been around for years- a good marketing plan is key to getting, and keeping your business up and running. When you think of marketing, what comes to mind? TV commercials? Radio ads? Billboards? Yes- these have been the go to pieces of a well rounded marketing strategy in the past. Do they still provide some benefit in today's marketplace? Perhaps. But, there is so much more to the story.
Your social media presence, or lack of one, is a lot like your website. I don’t remember the last time I opened the phonebook to look up a business, do you? A businesses website and social media can tell me more about a business than any phone book could- unless it doesn’t. In your marketing mix- where does social fit in? You may have the radio, tv, billboard, and maybe even web banner spots rolling, but how does your social look? Like your website, your social media presence may be the first thing a prospective customer or client visits- you want that first impression to be a good one, right?
Social media is so much more than a personal Facebook account- it’s serious business! With over 3.3 BILLION active social media users across the world, the social media stage is a big one. Like your website, people look to these social accounts for information, help, reviews, industry news, and even entertainment. Creating a solid social media presence involves set-up, overall strategy, curated and original content, inside advertising, and ongoing page management- but it can be fun! Think of your social media as the face of your business. This is where people come to get to know who you are. By including social media in your overall marketing mix, you are creating a credible and complete first impression.
